CONTENTS

Organization

MaXi-Event's, with the collaboration of the MaXi-Team association (an association under the law of 1901 registered with the official gazette and a member of the FFA under number 074469), is organizing the Trail du Lac d'Annecy, MaXi-Race.

Article 1 - Acceptance of the rules

Registration for the Race and/or participation (wearing a Bib) in one of the races of the Trail du Lac d'Annecy, MaXi-Race, implies the reading and automatic acceptance by each competitor of the regulations.
The runner undertakes to respect all the regulations and in particular not to anticipate the start, to cover the full distance before crossing the finish line.
The organization may make changes to these regulations at any time.

ARTICLE 2 - Tests

The Trail du Lac d'Annecy is an event featuring several outdoor events, 90% of which take place on the long-distance trails of the TLA. Each event takes place at a free pace and in a limited time.
The orientation formats (MaXi and Semi-Orientation) are races organized and run autonomously by the Annecy Sport Orientation association.
The Mini-races are events for children and are not ranked.

The MaXi-Race allows you to live your adventure around the lake with formats adapted to your desires and objectives:

  • Lake Annecy tOur :
    • In 1 day
    • In 2 days
    • In a team
  • The Shokz U-turn
  • The Marathon-eXperience
  • Le Quart de tOur homme
  • Le Quart de tOur femme
  • Team orienteering races organized by ASO :
    • MaXi and Semi Orientation

  • Children's races: Between 50 and 800m: Mini-Races

For details of each Race (kilometers, altitude difference, time barriers, etc.), please visit the specific page for each Race.

ARTICLE 3 - Fairness Commission

The "equity" commission has full powers to enforce compliance with the rules (penalties, disqualification, etc.).
In the event of proven cheating, the commission may, on the basis of a simple "observation" (without the need to provide proof), disqualify the Race or impose a penalty applicable immediately or by subsequent decision.
The main targets will be uncontrolled refuelling, non-possession of compulsory equipment, incivility or inappropriate behaviour on the part of accompanying persons, but also on any point of the rules.
It is understood that commission members are under no obligation to wear a specific visual.
If a runner or spectator witnesses an explicit and indisputable act of cheating (several witnesses, photo(s), video(s)...), it will be possible to lodge a complaint with the Race management until 2 hours after the arrival of the competitor in the Race in question.
A deposit cheque for 50 euros will be requested in this case, but will be returned in the event of a penalty decision.

    • Know how to manage physical or mental problems resulting from fatigue, digestive problems, muscular or joint pain, minor injuries...
    • To be fully aware that the organization's main role is not to help a rider deal with his problems.
    • To be fully aware that for such an outdoor activity, the individual safety of the rider depends on the rider's ability to adapt to encountered or foreseeable problems.
    • For participants in the Semi or MaXi-Orientation, to respect the discipline-specific rules and protocols laid down by the Annecy Sport Orientation association, which organizes these 2 Race formats.

  • If you choose a lower-priced Race , we will not refund the difference.
  • For all requests of this type, please send an e-mail to inscriptionmaxirace@gmail.com indicating your first and last name and the Race to which you wish to be switched.

ARTICLE 5 - Safety and medical assistance

First-aid posts (doctors, ambulances, first-aiders) are set up at various points along the course. These are linked by radio or telephone to Race HQ.

The aid stations are designed to provide assistance to any person in danger, using the organization's own resources or those contracted by the organization (depending on the seriousness of the situation, public services may also be called in).

It is the responsibility of a runner in difficulty or seriously injured to call for help as follows:

  • by going to a first-aid station
  • by calling PC Race (telephone number on Bib)
  • asking another rider to call for help
  • by presenting themselves to a course marshal, controller or any other member of the organization present on the course
  • if you are unable to contact Race HQ or the controller, you can call the emergency services directly, in the event of a life-threatening emergency only (112 from France).

It is the responsibility of each rider to assist any person in danger and to notify the emergency services.

Don't forget that hazards of all kinds, linked to the mountain environment and our Race formats, may require a more or less lengthy rescue time (between 5 and 25 minutes in normal circumstances, and up to 40 minutes in certain cases, according to FFA recommendations). Your safety will therefore depend on the quality of the equipment you have packed in your bag, which is the minimum required.

A rider who calls on the services of a doctor or paramedic submits to their authority and agrees to accept their decisions.

In particular, first-aiders, official doctors and Race management are authorized to:

  • to disqualify (by invalidating the Bib) any Race "judged" unfit to continue the event
  • evacuate any riders they deem to be in danger by any means at their disposal

If necessary, and always in the interests of the rescued person's health, the organization may call on public rescue organizations (mountain rescue). In such cases, the direction of operations and the deployment of appropriate resources, including helicopters, are the responsibility of the public rescue services. Expenses arising from the use of these exceptional means will be borne by the person rescued, who must also ensure his or her return from the point where he or she was evacuated. It is the rider's sole responsibility to set up and submit a file to his personal insurance company within the allotted time.

ARTICLE 6 - Preventive health action

The organization has decided to set up an internal health prevention program. This initiative is neither intended nor competent to replace national and/or international anti-doping regulations in force, but is designed to reinforce the medical surveillance desired by the organization. This action is steered by a Medical Council, made up exclusively of doctors, who can seek advice from experts of their choice, and is responsible for giving an advisory opinion to the Race Jury on the medical condition of participants.

Each rider agrees to :

  • Inform the Organization's Medical Council in the event of use of a prescription subject to a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE). A procedure is available for this purpose in the health section of the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) website: www.i-tra.org. This information must be provided on the day of registration if a TUE has been requested or obtained previously. Otherwise, it must be done no later than the 8th day following the TUE application, and imperatively before the start of the Race.
  • Accept all urine and/or blood and/or capillary samples and associated analyses requested by the Organization's Medical Council, it being understood that the costs inherent in taking these samples and associated analyses will be borne directly by the Organization.
  • Agree to respond to any summons that the Medical Council may send him/her on the basis of the information he/she has collected, in order to discuss his/her suitability or otherwise to take part in the Race for which he/she has registered. At the end of the interview, the Medical Council may go so far as to propose to the Race Jury that the rider be excluded from competition.

ARTICLE 7 - Maximum authorized time and time barriers

Maximum race times have been defined for all events. Depending on Race conditions, they may vary at any time at the discretion of the organizers.
These time limits are calculated to enable participants to reach the finish within the maximum time limit. To be allowed to continue the race, competitors must leave the checkpoint before the set time limit (whatever the time of arrival at the checkpoint).

To find out about the time barriers, visit the specific web page for each Race.

ARTICLE 8 - Course, rider safety and timetable

The Trail du Lac d'Annecy organization reserves the right at any time to modify the route or timetable of any of the events included in this programme. The organization also reserves the right to cancel an event for any reason that would put the runner's life in danger, or in any other case of force majeure (no refund can be requested). The organization may have to modify the original route and distance, favouring more road sections, in order to enable participants to run safely whatever the weather conditions (in compliance with any prefectoral decrees). Runners are reminded that alternative routes are available and that, barring exceptional conditions, the Race can go ahead. No compensation will be paid in the event of a change of route.

ARTICLE 9 - Compulsory equipment and penalties

Compulsory equipment - may be adjusted 15 days before the event
Equipment will not be checked when the Bibs are handed out, but will be randomly checked at the start, during the event and on arrival.
